Meaning

I am always haunted by this excessive desire.  I feel helpless in dealing with this unsolvable problem.  Oh, Manini! I feel orphaned.  Oh Varaliruciveni (having hair of he of a bee!)  To whom can I confide about my miseries?
Oh, beautiful one!  I never thought that it would come to such a pass between my beloved, who resembles Cupid..  All the things that he told me have become a mockery.  Oh, Manini!  does he not have even a small amount of compassion for me?  I spend sleepless nights every day without break. It is frustrating and indescribable to exist like this.
The beauty of his face outshines that of the moon.  He is an expert in amorous sports.. His speech is as mellifluous as his smile is beautiful.  The loveliness of his lips surpasses that of the Bimba fruit.  His eyes are like blue lotus.  Oh, Madhuvani! Manini! Reflecting incessantly upon these attributes,  I am becoming frustrated with ever-increasing desires.
Oh, Nalinadalanayane!  (having eyes resembling lotus petals).  Without tarrying and trifling, please go to Lord Padmanabha and reveal all my sorrows to him.  Oh, Kaminimani! Please tell him that I am forlorn and am becoming an object of mockery among my friends and that they denigrate me. Oh, Kalabhagamini!  (having the gait of an elephant!).  Please tell him not to let such things happen to me.

Meaning

Oh Lord with a lotus-like face! Destroyer of hordes of demons! Protect me Oh the repository of virtues.
Narada and other sages prostrate at your feet.  YOu recline on the king serpent and you are peerless.
Your lips shine like Bimba Fruit.  Your divine form shines darker than the rain-bearing clouds.  you are adorned in golden robes; your neck shines with Kaustubha garland; oh lord! you have Garuda as a mount!  Please remove my sorrow; you subdued the pride of Indra oh supreme lord!
You allayed the fear of elephant; protected the pious zealously; you are to the hordes of wicked what wind is to the clouds.  You brim with compassion towards your devotees who have done heaps of virtuous deeds.  Oh, the destroyer of the demon Mura!  Madhava!  Your teeth shine brilliantly like pieces of mirrors, oh the lord of celestials! dwell in my heart, oh peerless one!
You have the sun and the moon as your eyes; you dispense auspicious things, your exploits are sacred and pure. Oh, Amburuhanabha!  Compassionate one!  Your tresses are adorned with fragrant flowers.  You are skillful in allaying the fear of worldly existence.  May your lotus feet bestow on me, the everlasting bliss.

Meaning

May I  be able to tolerate this passion?  Is it justified for my lord to ignore me?
Dear lady, Sri Padmanabha who is equal to Manmatha, who has sugarcane as a bow, today has refused me.
From the days of my childhood itself, I used to believe that he is the ocean of compassion.  Due to the arrows of Cupid, my heart experienced ecstasy,  but my fate is like this!!
In this world, my husband is flirting with another woman.  Today I can remember what all he has spoken to me many times.
You are glowing with the moon's rays, but this night is passing too slowly.  My husband who used to meet me must have forgotten his love for me.

Oh, Taruni (lady)!  What will I do?  Alas!  My beloved seems to have forgotten me!!
When shall I see his lotus-like face and hear his love-filled speech?
Aho! I never thought this will happen to me even in my dreams.  Among all the women in this world, why should I alone be unfortunate?
Oh Madhumozhi voice like honey!  Is there no limit to the arrows that the Cupid is aiming?  Oh! the one who walks with the gait of an elephant!  To whom shall I share the miserable thoughts that overwhelm me?
Oh, the Kokiavani.  Kindly tell lord Padmanabha all about my miseries. Except for my cupid-like beloved, who else can give me refuge?
